Psychological research has clearly established that parental alienation is a type of child abuse, a form of abuse that may have as severe and long-lasting detrimental impacts on children as emotional or physical abuse.
Yet family law courts, therapists, and divorcing parents all need to begin doing something different to protect children and alienated parents. This example of classic court errors suggests vital changes that need to be made.
