Participation in a leader training program is not required. The resource kits include
self-study materials with detailed suggestions for session-by-session
preparation that can enable an experienced therapist or marriage educator to
teach the Power of Two skill-building exercises “from the box.”

At the same time, for marriage educators who would feel more comfortable
with in-person leader training prior to teaching, or who would like to
shorten the time it takes to prepare themselves to teach workshops, we
recommend participation in one of our weekend workshops. We have found that
new leaders who watch the skills being taught by the author, experiencing the
learning from a participant's perspective, most quickly learn to teach the course
themselves.

This weekend training option includes 8 hours of participation in a couples’
workshop in Denver, As described above, the workshops take place
approximately once a month, with sessions from 1 to 5 on Saturday and again on
Sunday. After each 4-hour session, co-author and Power of Two Institute
director Abigail Hirsch then meets with leaders-in-training to consolidate what they
have learned about leading the course.

The fee for this training weekend is $450 per participant couple (spouse included).
Please note that we strongly encourage spouses to attend.  Agencies who would
like to train multiple leaders should ask about group rates.
